Pool EXCAVATION

As professionals, we understand that creating a backyard oasis starts with the proper site excavation. Excavation is the process of digging the hole for an inground pool. Depending on the size of the pool, this can be an extensive process, involving large machinery and specialized skills. In addition, care must be taken to avoid water or gas pipes, as well as remove the excavated materials such as rocks. The right pool excavation company can make the difference between a gorgeous pool that lasts for decades or a pool in need of constant repair. For establishing the best foundation, trust in Cecil Gunite for the knowledge and skill to make your dream pool a reality.

PLUMBING & ELECTRICAL

Plumbing a pool, or repairing a broken pipe can be a difficult task. we have the latest tools and technology to detect leaks underground to take preventative measures before they become a bigger issue.

We offer multiple Electrical services which include but not limited to: equipment wiring, pool pumps, booster pumps, gas heater, heater pump, salt generator, pool lights and timer clocks.

rebar

Once a new hole is dug for a pool, a team of steel installers bend hundreds of pieces of steel rebar into the proper outline of the pool as designed in the construction plan. Each piece is integrated into the larger rebar network and is bound together with steel ties to place the bars permanently in place.

Rebar (short for reinforcing bar), is known as reinforcing steel. This is the steel bar or mesh of steel wires used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry structures to strengthen and aid the concrete under tension. Underneath all that beauty is a complex layer of steel rebar to holdup the pool’s integrity and durability. Rebar increases the tensile strength of gunite to withstand the additional tension pool water creates. Each piece of rebar must be placed at the proper distances based on the design plans to carry the load and to protect the strength of the pool. At Cecil Gunite, we have installed gunite pools for decades and understand the importance of using the right steel rebar at the right intervals. A pool must not only look beautiful, but it needs to be structurally solid for years to come and peace of mind.

Gunite / Shotcrete

What is gunite, and why should you consider it for your inground pool? Simply put, gunite is a method of mixing concrete – but what makes gunite unique is its application and durability for swimming pools. Gunite is concrete applied with the dry-mix process and shotcrete is the wet mix concrete. The dry mixture is forced through a hose to specialized channels where it combines with water and is sprayed through a high-pressure nozzle onto a preformed surface, the gunite forms a harden shell in the shape of the desired pool.

With over 38 years experience (3 generations of combined experience) as a commercial gunite contractor, our highly qualified technicians know what it takes to apply gunite the right way. The technician sprays the cement mixture over rebar and steel to give the gunite added strength and durability. Once it’s sprayed, crew members cut and smoothes it into steps, benches, ledges, barstools, and so much more!

Decorative Concrete Work

Besides the pool itself, pool owners also have to consider the concrete work around the pool - this could be a walkway, steps, benches, ledges, barstools, etc. Concrete designs are one of the hot new trends for pool decks. Concrete is no longer plain, grey and boring - we have many options in patterns and color. Decorative concrete is now thought of as a beautiful decorative element. At Cecil Gunite, we have experience working with over 40k projects and counting, and we have a strong understanding of how concrete could be useful decorative pieces as well as a durability option that will last for decades.

Paver

Pavers are made by pouring concrete and a coloring agent into a mold of different shapes. Glass, concrete, stone, brick, clay or even plastic can be used for pavers. A variety of textures, shapes, colors and sizes are available. We can create beautiful and durable walkways to enter, exit, and navigate around your pool.

Pool Removal

Pricing will depend on size of the pool, accessibility and the pool type. Many households will outgrow a pool, in which the home owner doesn’t need it anymore and would contact us for removal, in which the newly opened space can be used for other functions.

SWIMMING POOL REMODEL

Pool remodels are meant for owners with an existing pool, but want a new face lift. The face lift can consist of tile work, decorative concrete, unique lighting, built in bar, seating areas, etc. A swimming pool remodel may be just the thing to revamp an old, dated pool without having to invest in a brand new one. Perhaps you are tired of the old cosmetics and want to put in poured concrete or pavers. Maybe you have always dreamed of adding a waterfall feature to your pool. Some enhancements could include retaining walls, adding a spa, pool enlargement, tanning ledge, or waterfalls. Many people also choose to remodel using new plastering, this resurfacing helps extend the life of your pool from wear and tear over the years, but will also allow you to change the color of your pool with an array of blues and aquas.
